Our story
We are a company born from mother nature.

Genoa's aquarium
1998
To a childhood studded with natural elements, at 11 Nino will add an experience destined to mark him forever: the very first visit to the Aquarium of Genoa. The magnificence of the tanks and the animals kept there have such a strong impact on the boy as to prompt him to promise himself that in the future he would contribute to the evolution of that world.
Everything comes from passion
Our journey begins in 2011
At this moment, Nino Provenza begins to think of being able to found a company that can put the passion for animals at the center of its work. Nino’s extraordinary story, however, has its roots in an even earlier moment. We need to take a step back and reach Nino’s childhood, while he is growing up surrounded by all kinds of animals in the splendid setting of the Mugello countryside. The suggestiveness of certain scenarios have a great impact on the child, who reaching maturity, starts hoping to be able to reproduce the same emotions experienced as a child even in the workplace.

The first individual firm
2012
Nino Provenza’s first individual company is born. Its name will be Animal’s House: a very small local company that is the direct emanation of the love that its founder feels towards animals. Specifically Nino understands that his true passion for animals must be channeled towards the world of terrariums and aquariums after buying Mady, his first green iguana, and Lucy, a royal python specimen out of pure curiosity.
Duccio Catalioto
2013
Nino’s passion and talent quickly infected Duccio Catalioto, his childhood buddy. The vision and foresight convinced him to focus on the project and to embark on an incredible entrepreneurial journey, betting everything on Nino’s passion. The early days are not easy at all: you have to lay the foundations for a solid business and the economic gain is minimal, but the two guys are aware of the effectiveness of the project. Duccio studies the environment following Nino at trade fairs and understands the trend of a market that is completely new to him: the road has been traced.

More and more animals
2014
Nino begins to breed more and more animals: his attention is focused on huge varieties of fish, royal pythons, boa constrictors, turtles, chameleons and saurians. For each of these types, Nino begins to commit himself to personally creating the aquariums and terrariums that host them: almost without realizing it, Nino’s passion turns into a full-time job.
Resignation from a stable job
2015
Precisely by virtue of the growth of Animal’s House, Nino takes the courageous decision to quit his job as a clerk to focus full-time on his new creature. Leaving the certainty of a stable job to take a leap into the void is a bold choice. However ,as it should be, courage is always rewarded. In addition to this he decides to sell the container full of his prized animals to focus on the production of aquariums and terrariums.

Gregory Rossi
2016
By continuing to work on their project, Nino and Duccio understand that Animal’s House must focus on selling handcrafted bespoke aquariums and building and selling complete aquarium systems. To support this choice, the team expands: Dr. Gregory Rossi, the first biologist of the team, jumps onboard. The guys, understanding the potential of the Internet, decide to make the business leap in quality: they decide to join the online dimension in addition to the offline one. Against common prejudices, they take a path that will prove to be successful.
Genoa's and Livorno's aquarium
2017
In 2017, after years of sacrifices paid off by constant growth, arrives the collaboration with Costa Edutainment . This is company that owns the Genoa Aquarium and all the water museums in Italy. The dream of the child Nino finally finds an outlet with the realisation of the tropical garden project ‘A beat of wings‘, created by Animal’s House for the Genoa Aquarium. This experience represents, to date, a milestone in the life of the company and of its founders.

500
2018
Animal’s House is growing exponentially and the need to expand its spaces and its corporate structure is becoming more and more necessary. If one were to summarize the year with a single word it would be ‘five hundred’. Yes, because in 2018, in addition to the birth of the first LTD, 500 new square metres were inaugurated and used for the artisan workshop available to the Animal’s House team. In 2018, more than 500 custom-made aquariums were built and delivered throughout the country.
STATUS
2018
In a short time, Animal’s House begins to receive orders from dozens and dozens of customers to be managed monthly. Duccio decides that it is time to implement some cutting-edge technology for process optimization and customer support. Suddenly, intuition: so 2018 becomes the year of Status, the innovative system that puts the customer directly in contact with our artisans and updates them with each process. Crystal cutting, assembly, quality control, packaging and shipping: at each step, our craftsmen take care to get the information in real time on the customer’s smartphone.

Expansion into Europe
2019
The incredible growth of Animal’s House inside the Italian market is not an end in itself. Soon, in fact, even abroad aquarists and design enthusiasts begin to pay attention to the quality of Made in Italy craftsmanship. The first customers arrive from Austria, Germany and Spain: the company officially begins to export throughout Europe, further expanding its catchment area.
N°1 in Italy
2021
The team expands further and reaches ten units between external collaborators and employees. The constant evolution of the project, then, pushes Nino and Duccio to rethink their online image : the new brand is thus launched. This step is designed to give Animal’s House a fresh image that fully complies with the identikit of a company that is the number 1 reference in Italy for the creation of custom-made artisan aquariums and complete aquarium systems.
